The Furniture

Mostly freestanding pieces, the furniture I design and make includes tables, desks, chairs, sideboards, dressers, chests of drawers and cabinets to store practically anything that needs putting away out of sight or on display.

The intended use of the furniture is every bit as important as its appearance so with this in mind it is built to amply perform its task and withstand the rigours of daily use; timbers and polishes can be chosen to meet the specific requirements for each piece that is made.

When designing furniture I am aiming to bring together all the information I have received from the client - regarding function, its location, preferred timbers and styles and so on - to produce something that will harmoniously enrich its new environment and give pleasure to its new owners, their friends and family alike. It is also my aim to create something of which I can be proud making the amount of time and thought expended on creating individual pieces of furniture to commission worthwhile and fulfilling occupation.
